So me and my buddy were talkin about our plans for MECA Ohio next year and we were discussing alpine amps and I go on to say that I like their amps but their subs will never see any of my vehicles lol. He tells me that his type r 12's (newest model, black cone) are the best subs for the money, I tell him for the price, MAYBE, but the best sub for the money IMO is the hdc3, as far as output goes, so he tells me to buy 2 12 hdc3 on the same power as him (2500+ rms) and he WILL meter higher than me, he said if I meter higher I get to keep his type r's. I said there's a lot of factors that will determine that, first of all I have a JIMMY, he has an AVENGER, he said it doesn't matter he will be louder out of a trunk than I will be in a hatch. We both have 200A alts and he has 1 kinetik 2400 and I'm running a stinger spv70.

What do y'all think about this argument!? Discuss!

I think you should swap subs out, test both subs in each vehicle. run one set hdc3 in your vehicle then his and meter. Then run type r's in each vehicle and meter.

the biggest thing is going to be finding the correct enclosure,

use the jimmy, it will be far easier to get a good enclosure for that than it will the avenger,

and it cant be the same enclosure for both sets, they each need to be in they best possible enclosure for that sub.
