Both Towncar and thorshammer are correct. The standard aluminum coil version has six spiders and doesn't require a break in unless you are going to start burping right off with two or three times the rated rms. If you are going to really push the sub let it break in a few hours first. You are correct sir.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The difference being 8 xtra stiff spiders which is what I run. I have Aluminum recones from DJ with a retarded stiff suspension. They will take the better part of a month or more to break in.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I just got off the phone with DJ and he says your correct. He also states that if your a nut job like me the subs will need a break in period to be able to take 5k+//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Ive got mine running in the garage right now. The gain is set pretty dang low as well. So far im at 1.5hours. Im thinking 4 hours or so now. Plus im only giving them 1k each right now. Ill be getting a 4k2d soon so theyll have some real power. BTW, these are copper coils.just leave your car playing in the garage at low volume and start it up every hour or so. That's how I did mine, but I've also done no break in and didn't have any issues...
Yes 2 cubes is kinda small. But HDC3's like it, especially since ill be running them at 4k.congrats. If I can remember you have a lumee too? I was thinking about getting tens, but couldn't give up my passion for twelves. However the trunk space set ups are tricky because of the two pieces that hold the trunk lid up. But how do you have the box set and isn't 2 cubic feet kinda small for two tens?
I'll go measure my box.Yes 2 cubes is kinda small. But HDC3's like it, especially since ill be running them at 4k.
Sheyot sounds like we got us an Army of Lil Monsta's!Hmmmm I got mine at 3.8 after displacements. Wonder if I could make mine a little smaller.
Here's a pic of 8 spiders consisting of 4 stiff and 4 reg. The darker being stiffer than the lighter color. Yes Corey I know what your saying but that's what they call it.cause what will happen is u'll break the glue joint spider to basket or worse the triple joint. and be careful in the cold too cause the spiders stiffen up. now come on rob there is no stiff spiders in a aq or dd just manyyy soft ones, totally different design than any other sub out there but it works so cant comment. i can hook ya up with 8 linear xstiff spiders but the coil wouldnt even move, lol. post some pix of the spiders close up please.
with how you are with ur subs they should break in in about 10mins, those r some tough subs!
oh nice vids!
