Just refinished my amp! take a look!

hey guys i jsut refinished my amp (orion 1200d) about 1wk ago and haven't found time to put it back together yet or get pics! but i have now! at 11:20ish pm lol. o well!

anyways i started with this!

than i hit it with 320 grit emery paper to remove the clear coat

then i hit it iwith 600grit then up to 1000grit emergy. last but not leasted used some SUPER awesome alumium polish called bluemagic!

as you can see it has the mirror finish.

if i could do it all over again i would have took more time and used the 1000grit emery a little longer. if you look close into it you can see a slight wave on the end were i jsut hurried up on it! it was getting bored and had wasted to much time as it was. anyways it is all done now.

if anyone is interested in buying the amp or wanteding me to refinish there jsut let me know. anyway enjoy the pics!

If you want to get it even more shiny get a tube of Harley Davidson Bright Metal Polish it will look like chrome after a couple of treatments. The Blue Magic stuff is OK but the HD stuff is awesome. If there is a Harley dealer in your area they should carry it. About $5 a tube and it goes far since only very little is needed. I used it on my HiFonics amps (see avatar) and they came out stellar.

Is the case aluminum or stainless steel? If not it'll get surface rust unless you clear coat it.

actualy it is i believe cast aluminum! and i will look into ssome clear coat or even some lacquer maybe!

well remeber most amps have clear coat on them, and the only way to get clear coat off is with sand paper or sand blast it or bead blast lol. in my opoin i don't thik you can just apply the polish b/c it wouldn't penitrate throught the clear coat!
