Just Out Of Curiosity

I'm not trying to make this another "Bruh wuts loudr" thead like every other car noob.

Currently have a Fi Bl 12. Love it, would love to grab another eventually. But 8s have always made me curious and I've wanted to try them. I've jesed the sundown x8s can get down. But so can the whole x series anways. 2 8s compared to 1 12 Obviously has more cone area. I get that, but in my opinion 12s are more "all around" they can get down, while also supporting the highs really well. How would you compare the x8s?

I love my Fi, it kills the lows, mines currently tuned to 32. But the highs are pretty good also, for me. Are the x8s punchy, because of size, low, due to them being x8s and now they're made, are they also nice on the high end too, while remaining a musical sub? Again, I know the x series is really meant to get down and be low af. Jusy would like to know the main different in the 8s and 12s. Id like to start with 2 and build up to Maybe 4, and yes I know, obviously 2-4 8s will be "louder" than 1 12.

Thanks for the info!

If you love your Fi and it hits the highs and lows to 32Hz, why change? I know I wouldnt go from a 12 to multiple 8's. More wiring if nothing else. If you want more knock, then just do a 2x 12" setup IMHO.

8s arent punchier Its just mainly cone area. However you are comparing two different woofers. One has a higher fs mainly for traditional spl sound. While the sundown X has a linear sound built for a different purpose. I'd say you'll be disappointed with the output of the two 8s in comparison to your current setup.

here's something vertex audio did.

Actually the sundown x8 doesn't have the same sound as the X,zv4,nsv3... Jacob has said many times the x8 has a traditional sound like the zv2,zv3 etc.. The x8 does not have that low distortion sound of the fat surround woofers.

I would do a single 12" as I love single subwoofer setups, but next setup is probably just more power on my ZVX or getting 2 15's on 3k
