just got back from walmart

I am white and I speak Spanish, it doesn't bother me that other people around me do. I can understand it bothering other people though. I am from Alabama, and I don't know of many white people other than myself that speak Spanish. What I don't like though is the way people act at Walmart, it's not just the Mexicans, sure I get pissed when me and my wife go in there and someone has something out of line they say about her and they don't think I will understand. The look on peoples faces when they get called out on that is priceless. Bad manners isn't really limited to one particular race, it is a widespread epi-f***in-demic where I live. My view on non English speakers is this, if people here are trying to learn your language, meet us halfway. If we go to Mexico and expect everyone to speak English what would be the outcome??

But .. the thing is All around the world people are learning English .. so i would think most of the world knows and speaks English .. If you live in the states and don't speak English at least a little bit .. then i think you should go learn English .. As for myself I'm a "immigrant" but i do have a passport in the US. things i don't understand is that Chinese people are amazed at how well i speak Chinese .. I moved from H.K when I was 1yr old so that might be a reason why ..
