just got back from shootin

i know a guy who came across a buck that had got hit by a car. he picked it up to take it off of the roadway and he got fined big time by fish and game because he had possesion of a deer out of season. hunting license gone, and left with a serious fine.

what if he pulled off the road and chased the deer into the forest or something and then shot the deer while not being on the road?
Honestly I have no clue, to tell you the truth.

I guess it would depend on who owned the land in question and whether or not it was eligible to be hunted on? I really do not know, noob. I've never personally hunted anywhere but on lease land in which I was a member of the lease or private land owned by people I am related to and gave me explicit permission to hunt from.

sorry guys, i'd still take an ar 15 over a .22 any day. never been too impressed w/ .22's.

exactly.. when i shoot a .22 gun, it feels so much like an airsoft gun that i just have the tendency to shoot wherever. So don't hand me a .22! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

i've shot small animals w/ a .22 before and guess what, they didnt die. just injured them. a higher powered rifle is a diff story, shot a wild dog w/ a scoped sks at about 200 yds a few yrs back, that was funny. 1 round is all it took.

its all about bullet placement. if you cant put a shot in the right place it isnt going to do anything. once again, i know people that hunt deer with .22's. if you dont have skill though, i can see where you cant kill something with a .22.

oh, and a .22 will drop a dog on the spot.

If for some reason you hear gun shots, I can assure you the last thing anyone would be wondering is what type of gun, caliber, ect... it is. You'd just want to get the hell out of there asap.

Yes there are many variables, stopping power, ect.. im not trying to bring up nor argue any of them. A bigger round will (most of the time) have more torque then a .22 ,for hunting I dont see why a .223 wouldnt work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Doesnt matter if its a .50 cal or a .22, if you get hit, you'd think it something.

I would however love one of these //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

barretts. they are serious weapons. when it comes to calibers though, a .44 mag will blow the back of someones head out where a .22 will ricochet (sp?) around and take out everything internally. either way they are effective and get the job done. most hitmen actually prefered to use a .22 with a silencer because they arent nearly as loud as other firearms.
