why is CA&E a bad mag? because is dose not show a lot of RE?
Pick up a CA&E or AS&S from the 90's and you'll see why.
CA&E sucks f
ucking ***. They used to have 3 or 4 good, multiple page, large detailed picture how-to's per issue that just about anyone could go out to their garage and institute into their own vehicle. Now they have
one if your lucky, on one of the very last pages, with pictures that are .75" x .75". And most of it I don't really car about as it's nothing the majority of car audio enthusiasts would actually do/need.
They used to cover actual down-to-earth, good sounding vehicles that you could actually learn something from while reading through the article about the vehicle. Ideas on how to improve your setup, installation tips, etc. Now all they feature are celebrity blinged-out crap with piss poor (acoustically) installs meant for all show and "look how much money I can spend" setups.
And I believe the advertising has increased about 10 fold since then. So not only has the content gotten much worse, but there's less of it (which, with the quality of the articles is a blessing in disguise I guess).
In the last couple issues I've picked up of CA&E, they appear to be trying to get better. Those few issues actually had an (one, singular) article explaining a little bit about car audio.....but they're still not nearly what they used to be.
