i just got a jl w3v2d2 from my friend. I was looking for an amp that would match. It runs at 300W rms, and the impedance is dual 2 ohms i believe.

well i dont want to spend a lot on an amp, probably at most 250. I know that you shouldn't go cheap on an amp given that it is the heart and soul of the sub itself in a sense. Got any suggestions?

you can find something easy in that price range. I'd find a nice 500 watt monoblock for it.

500W isn't that a little much? because the ratings for the amp is the constant power flow it gives right? i mean the sub itself runs at about 300W rms, and i dont want to blow it by giving it too much juice.

as long as you have the gain on the amp set correctly to the RMS of the sub, then it really doesn't matter how much more power the output of the amp is.

I used to run a pair of the V.1s off of an Orion HCCA 275G4. Thats 1200watts at 1 ohm bridged @12V. I think they would handle 500 watts just fine.
