Jug vs eD A vs RE XXX

My bad. The flat piston design doesn't really move more air. They are essencially the same as a normal cone. I wasn't thinking straight when I typed that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

uh....actually your still wrong. A bowl shaped cone moves more air because it has more surface area. What has more surface area, a bowl or a plate (considering the diameter was the same)? Its a bowl. Thats why many subs have a second indention going out in the middle of the sub, that too adds to the surface area of the sub and therefor it moves more air. But ti doesnt really matter, everything listed is gonna be loud as hell

Actually you are wrong.

It's a piston radiating either forward or reverse. Whatever it's radiating area is - is what matters. Conical or flat, makes no difference.

Take that bowl, move it 2mm forward. Take that plate, move it 2mm forward.

What have you displaced?

2mm of air.

hahahaha, you win.

But is this guy looking for a loud sub to comp with or a daily driver?

In response to the question at hand, I'd imagine given past results, the Juggernaut would pull ahead with extreme amounts of power...

Moderate amounts, is where the XXX and A would be better suited... All depends on what you are doing, and how you set it up really... Most serious SPL guys don't hold pistonic area as the rule of thumb... As I'm sure is obvious.

no...It doesnt work that way, if it did perhaps all subs would be flat. I know there is a mathmatical way to rpve this, but Im having trouble explaning it in words. Yes, they will both move 2 mm forwars, but say two subs are exaclty 15", but one is flat and one is a bowl shaped with a cone inturding in the middle. The bowl shaped one has more surface area moving, and the more surface area, the more air moved. Every sqaure cm or mm of surface area on a cone is moving the same amount of air, becaseu air is a constant. Just trust me, I know my pshyics.

its always great when someone thinks theyre right...and then the SUPER smart person is like "ha!you are not!"and gives this amazingly smart reason why....i need to be that smart so i can go "ha!you are not!"....d2 btw ...rangerman hit 145 w/ 1 i believe.....

conical v/s flat....more surface area doesn't equal more radiating area

a woofers displacement is determined by radiating area and excursion

both 15" woofers will radiate nearly a 13" column of air... the same amount of air..

you have to look at diameter... not surface area

why you don't see absurdly deep cones.. no advantage to it... period //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Then you would know that area is two-dimensional, negating any issues with depth...

Trust me, I know you do not know your physics then. I am a physics major also, I'm more than glad to continue this.

As loyd has already assisted in this matter, I'll just reiterate:

It isn't going to happen.

"Don't forget the ED A is made to be SQ.... of course the others will get louder"

The only "SQ" driver on this planet is one that you like to listen to.
