It will work but that is a drastically small amount of power, why do you only want to use 140watts?.

I have this alpine amp on my CompVR rated at 400watts rms.....it pounds pretty good......I figured it would sound even better with the JL which is rated at 150watts rms.

You really will not notice to much of a difference in sound. Output will be **** near the same, And I doubt the W1v2 will have much more accuracy than your Kicker.

For a true noticable increase in bass double your power to 300watts RMS(new amp), the JL will handle it no prob.

As for difference you are working with the same cone area and power, so speaker sensitivity will dictate who will be louder, the difference won't be much though.

where do people get the W1v2's anyways? i looked all over the net but nothing so far. Ebay maybe? I am thinking about getting a set for mids

You seriously dont think a sub rated at 150watts will be be pushed more to its XMAX than a sub that is rated at 400watts, off of a 140watt amp? It seems logical to me that the JL would perform better at that amp power.

Actually no. Sensitivity is where it is at. That CVR with ony 150 watts could be just as loud as the W1v2 at XMAX.

Best option here would be to get a new amp for the CVR and fully power that sucka.

Well......I tested the JL in my box on my amp today........as you can see, I changed subs. I get equal output and virtually the same sound out of the JL, but I have lowered all my setting.......gain, bass boost, and the bass on my H/U. I really didnt have enough power going to my CompVR. I really didnt want to get another amp either, because Im ol school and I really didnt want to go LOUDER. I also didnt want to max out my amp to get good bass.
