I personally love the smoothness of silk tweeters, i actually used to have those comps and they are very nice comps but the tweeters i just disliked on them. i am running a comp now with the silk tweets and they dont sound harsh and hard on the ears at very hi volumes.

While these tweeters may be hard domed, there is actually a thin rubber layer surrounding the metal that helps tone out all the noises that are harsh to the ears. I read this in the product description on JL's website and thought it was just some marketing gimmick. I heard these next to a few different sets with silk tweeters and these were at least as clean sounding.

The tweets aren't too harsh. They didn't seem to like power much when I ran a set, pretty easy to get some extra noises out of them at higher volumes. Midbass was good, fairly snappy, bottom end was a bit lackluster, but it wasnt' deadened very well. I enjoyed the set for what it's worth.
