just bought a piar a few days ago and am about to install today... i know their rms is 70 watts and im powering them off a 300/4. anyone know how much power would blow my speakers or what amp settings i should go with. i keep hearing the XRs dont like too much power and the last thing i want to do is blow them

75w rms per side is fine for the XR's. Run a HPF off the amp at around 80 Hz to start with. Tune to your tastes.

I ran 100W per side for long time, seems to take it easy...Until I remade my kickpanels and ripped wires off the tweeters
