I was lookin at gettin 2 12" JL W6v2s I can get the subs for $640 and Im hoping to limit my spendinds around a grand or so, altho I do not mind spending the money for soemthing good. My question is what kind of amp(s) should I get? Idel would be to get a 2000 watt amp or somthing and get a 2 ohm load but I have a feeling that won't happen. Any suggestions? SHould I even goto 2 w7s?

if you decide to go with w7's....

spend a little less, get a little more, go with 2 brahmas.

(wow....thats good.! adire audio should be using that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif )

just remember....ifu do get amad amp thatputs outanywherenear 2000w.....u better budget for some mad electrical upgrades!!

W6v2 = Sound Quality

W7 = SPL (Loud)

decide what type of sound you want then decide on which product.

also, although the JL subs are basicly the best, there are many close (in some case VERY close) rivals for about half the price. you might want to look into other options if you want to save money. The previously mentioned Brahama is almost identical to the W7 in every way (as far as sound/performance goes), but is much much less.

alright well i might get the w6v2s just based on I will get about hte same wattage out of them and better quality, who makes there brahamas tho?

adire audio = brahama

the w6v2 will sound better, but wont be as loud (can't have both //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

W6v2 are 4 ohm DVC, so with 2 subs you can get a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load...

I'm thinking about going with a single 12W6v2 with a ported box and an Mmats 500.1 or something else that gives me about 600RMS for the sub...

If you are going sealed on those subs get the JBL1200.1

Im a little hazy on my ohm loads but I thought I coould aget a 2ohm load by wiring them in a serveris, whats DVC? and how would I go about gettin a 1 ohm load, alos any suggestons on what amp can handle 2 of them?

My plan now will be to get 2 w6v2s then If i really need a punch later I will build a triple box and put a w7 in, im still researching bamahaas now.

NO, no... you cannot put 2 diferent type subs in the same set upp it just won't sound good with 2 W6v2 and 1 W7, go with one of them...

DVC is dual voice coil, W6v2 are 4ohm DVC, so you can have them in 2 or 8 ohm operation, if you have 2 subs you can play them in 1 or 4 ohm...

series = just add all resistances

parallel = (1/r1) + (1/r2) + etc... = 1/Rt

DVC = dual voice coil

so if they are 4 OHM DVC subs, each subs has two 4Ohm voice coil. so each subs can represent a 2 or 8 ohm load.

gotcha, so wire all 4 imputer together (2 subs x 2dvc = 4 imputs) ok then I think I will stick with JL for eveyones info I look at adires but im not sure if i trust them, i don't mind spending the extra money. So how big/what amp should I get? Aside from JL amps they get expensive for 1k untis
