All those plans and what everyone above is talking about are ported enclosures tuned to different frequencies and diff. box sizes. I had mine ported 2.25cu ft. tuned to about 38hz. and it was very loud.....but, too boomy for me. I have it sealed now, and its much more musical (IMHO) .......goes low and still gets loud enough for my taste.
