i have one and its sealed...

i also have this amp

http://www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=GTO301.1%20II&cat=AMP&ser=GTS&language=ENG&country=US&region=USA

And i know its being used at 4 ohms.

so what im wondering is a few different things..

first what should the little knob be at for hz. because it goes from 32hz to 320hz.. and the more i turn it out the more distorted it seems to get. but none the less louder.

i understand what the bassboost is and i can handle that

and then there is the front verox or whatever??? and this goes from what 9v to 32amp or 32 volt?

shit idk... sorry ill check it all out in the morning

but if anyone can understand what im talking about... can i give the sub as much power as the amp will give with out blowing it? and what is the max wattage that will blow this sub, any idea?

i think im giving it 150 now and the amp can give it 200 (if i turn up the little power knob [one that has 9v or w/e on it])

[sorry im tired and throughily confused]

You need to adjust your amps gains using one of the many tutorials on this subject. There are also alot of threads pretaining to adjusting out gains.

I have the same sub sealed, being powered by an Alpine amp......roughly 150-170watts rms. My gain ended up at about 3/4's (to blend with my system) and I use NO bass boost. Everything is balanced (highs/mids/bass) and the bass has lots of depth and drops LOW.
