JL 300/4v1 & DMM Problem

So I finally decided to get a dmm to set my gains properly, I have read the tutorials and even went to JL's site for the flash version. Anyway the problem I am having is when I pop in the test tone and place my volume 3/4 with the gain down, the dmm just reads 0.00. I though hmmm, maybe a bad dmm so I test it on my battery and it works fine with a 14.0 reading, try it back on the amp with no results.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is or am I just missing something? Thx in advance for any ideas.

exactly how did you connect the dmm to the amp? And you tried turning the gain up some and it still said 0.00 I assume?

hooked it up to positive terminal and negative terminal, well last night while using the test tones and turning up the gain up I get jack. Now the amp it self works, plays music and all that so its not blown or anything like that so I dont know what the hell is going on.
