JL 12W7 with e1800D?

Hey guys. I happen to have a chance to purchase the JL e1800D amp for a relatively decent price, $250. My friend has the hook up. How do you think it will match up with the 12W7? Also, how would this fair against a 500/1 and a 12W6v2 or a 500/1 with a 10w7? All three setups are almost equal in price. I'm just looking to install one sub and would prefer JL since the rest of my car audio is JL. Thanks.

I can tell you that a 12W6v2 and a 500/1 is a great setup.

500 rms is good, but if you could get 1000rms to the W7, it will shine

I am currently runnin the e1800D on my 12 W7, sounds great, but it does need more power to really wang.

how many decibels were you able to hit with the 800d?

140 on liner-x mic, i think its like 3db lower then the the more accurate ones. all sealed up mic on dash.

Have 2 friends each with a W7

one has a 1000/1 and the other a E1800

They both atre in Blazers (96 and a 98)

both in the JL prefab box

the guy with the 1000/1:

160 amp alt

2guage wire distro and 4guage out.

4guage from alt to yellow top

4guage battery ground to frame

on TL - 143.3 sealed with mic in kick

the guy with the E1800:

stock alt with a yellow top

4guage from battery to distro and 4guage to amps

on TL - 142.5 sealed with mic in kick

not to much of a difference.

have another friend who has (2) 12" W6's powered by a 500/1

in a prefab JL box. he hits 141's on TL
