Jl 12w6 Or 13w7

To all i need some help Im currently running 2 x 12w3s off a 1000/1 but i want more.

Im tossing up between w6 or a w7 i just want to go all out but im not really into competion its just for evryday listening but thumping. Do i go w7 or w6. Please help with your thoughts im stuck.

A mate of mine is an SQ judge and he rekons w6 buti have always wanted 2 w7s.

you could do the 2 w7's, but you'd want to pick up another 1000/1... which isnt really something that i'd do personally, but it's all about what you want. I've heard 2 w7's on a 1000/1 and all i can say is ehhhh. Not very impressed w/ the output even for a daily driver. It's all in what you want out of the setup. w6 = sound reeeeally good... w7 = give up a lil sq to get a lil louder

id defiantly put my money into other brands that can be had cheaper

however, you seem to be really happy with your subs so why switch brands.

but like andrew12 says, if your gonna get 2 w7's your gonna need another amp IMO. ive never used any of JL's stuff but i will say that ive never been happy feeding a sub less than its rms wattage. i have always ran 30-50% more, and when i tried lowering the load on the amp down to say 4 ohms...ehh, it was ok but not what daily bumping is to me anyways.

you could do Two 10w7's and still see a significant difference powered by the 1000/1. But if you wanted alot of difference, he's right Two 13w7's would need another Amp.

i ran two 12w7's in my grand cherokee off a orion 2500d and wheeww was that loud. i did that for about a year and decided to tame the system down and got rid of one of them.

go with two 13W6's, you wont need another 1000/1, you wont be sacrificing SQ, and they'll still get pretty **** loud, alot louder then two W3's, or you could probably run 4 W3's off a 1000/1 if you really wanted.

ps the 13W6 pushes 69% more air then the 12W6, just something to think about

if you have space for a vented box go with a w7. if sealed is the choice w6

Virgin ears... lol jk manG. I have heard w6's get loud before, but I've never heard a single w6 sub setup myself so I couldnt comment on single ones. I believe it was 3 w6's on 3 500/1's. It kinda bothered my ears w/ its spl... buuuuuut, my 15" mag on 1100 watts slaughtered it in spl and kept up in sq for prob 1/3 of the price.

Thank you all for your imput at this stage i think either 2 x 12w6 or 2 x 13w6 i will go for off the 1000/1 i already have.

I just dont know if i can get 13w6 in australia, i know i can get 12w6s

I agree with obsessed i have the 12 w6v2 ported and it gets very loud with about 600 - 700 watts going to it and still sounds clean but i dont advise swaying too far away from Jl recommended box size and tuning specs.
