JL 10w6 vs 2 10" mtx 4500 in stealth box

I currently have 2 10" mtx 4500 in a stealth box and was wondering how much better a single jl 10w6 in a box built to jl spec (sealed) would hit. Mtx is alot better than they used to be but they just dont hit hard enough and the quality could be alot better. Any ideas would the difference would be?

I had 2 10's in a sealed box in 2 different vehicles and they just did not hit hard at all. It could have been my vehicles since they were not the greatest for bass (soft top jeep, Corvette) but when I switched to a ported box it was easily twice as loud. So if you are going for loud I do not suggest a sealed box for 10's unless you really care about sound quality.

As far as your question goes if you fed your 2 MTX speakers the same power as you feed the JL W6 I would not think the W6 will be louder, especially in a sealed box. I am not sure if the stealth enclosure is sealed or ported but I would guess its sealed since you said it is not very loud.

Even though the JL is a much better speaker,2 average speakers are almost always going to be louder than 1 good one with the same power in the same setup.

I have had anywhere from 1-3 10's in my cars for the last 2-3 years and found that the subwoofer brand/type matters very little compared to the type of box you have and the Amp you have powering them. So my suggestion would be save yourself some money and have somebody build you a really nice box for your subs first and then decide if you want to upgrade the subs.
