This is my first time here and first car system i'm going to need some help.

I bought 2 JL 10W0 (10 inch) subs. They are 125 RMS, I need an amp that will not harm this subs and can play loud. I would also appreciate a diagram of how i should wire them.

The Rockford Fosgate P500-2 (New model), and the Rockford Fosgate P3001 (Old Model) come to mind.

With the P500-2, you would connect each sub to separate channels. + on subwoofer #1 goes on left channel's +, - on subwoofer #1 goes on left channel's -, and the same with subwoofer #2, except with the right channel

With the P3001, you would connect both subwoofers + to the amps +, and the - to the amp's -.

That would work great, plus that company got bought out by JL, so it's basically a JL audio amp. Heard that they were solid amps.
yeah, ive got 3 10W0-8 and thats the amp ive been lookin at. it'll under power 3 10s but is perfect for two. The only thing different from the TMA 250/1 and the JL 250/1 is R.I.P. and the price, its a great buy and what is needed for 2 10W0-4.

you could hook them into a pdx 1.1000...

ote one thing...

Power does not damage woofers or speakers, never, ever...

What can damage your speakers is low Power cause it sends distortion and it will warm the coil till it burn...

See, if the signal is clean, something that you´ll allways have with more powerfull amps, youll never damage a subwoofer, and the W0 series is one of the best JL production subs ever.

They sound nice and hass a lot of SPL for those Whatts...

Be sure to wire it up very well and take a look at the Fosgate T600.2 too looks like a great amp!!!

Good luck and congrats for the purchase!

Not 100% true. Feed speakers, especially subwoofers, enough power to continuously keep them driven past their physical limits and see how long they last! I watched someone do this in my college days and the voice coil came through the dust cap:eek:

But in another way, you are correct. In the past I have overpowered subwoofers and various other speakers by 2 to 3 times their RMS capabilities and I never had one of them fail. As long as the gains are set properly and the speakers aren't being driven past their physical limitations, more power will not damage them. It is all in how the system is tuned!

In the OPs case, should he choose to overpower his subwoofers, I would recommend that someone with knowledge help him tune his system and teach him to listen for when his subwoofers are physically distorting.
