JL 1000/1 problems?

I was told today at a local shop that older 1000/1s have a problem where the + grounds out at the terminals inside the amp. The guy said that when the amp heats up, something expands and makes the + and - touch eachother.

Now, since i got my 1000/1, ive been blowing fuses (in-line ANL fuses). My power wire isnt shorting out anywhere, and my 300/4s fuse isnt blowing, so its gotta be somewhere between the amp and ANL fuse, right? Has any1 heard of this problem b4?

im not quite sure what to tell you, if you want to try and fix it you could open it up and try to shim something inbetween the two. I would call JL and ask them about it. i was reading a thread on here where they helped someone get his W7 that was damaged working, so i dont think this would be too far off.
