Does this answer your question?

If you want to back peddle, that's fine. But dont pretend you didn't say things you did say.

And you still dont appear to understand the distinction. Science NEVER asks ANYONE to believe ANYTHING based on faith. Nope, not even 'theories'. Theories, as defined by science and scientists, is unproven. Unproven means 1) go prove it, or 2) go prove it wrong. Religion, yours and everyone elses, is based on an entirely different concept: faith. In other words, religion offers 'theories' that can never be proven, and demand you accept these theories (as fact) based on nothing more than faith.

You used the word 'faith' to describe believing in something that even science claims may or may not be true. You used the word 'religion' to describe following the principles of scientific verification. And now you want to know where I got the idea you are implying science is a religion? You didn't imply it, you flat out stated it, and attempted to reinforce your opinion with hopelessly flawed examples.

That all being said, Im glad to agree to disagree. I have no illusions Id change your mind, no matter how convincing my argument would be (or even no matter how true and verifiable). Im not trying to put down religion, God or even Faith. Truth is, I dont know if God exists or not. All I KNOW is what I can test, verify, and conclude myself. If you want to leave this at agree to disagree, Im more than happy to. I respect your faith and your choices, even if I dont agree with them. And I much prefer your approach of lets agree to disagree better than I do 6crnbnh's attitude of sarcasm and feigned outrage.

Cheers.
yeah def. dont mind agreeing to disagree. This is a pretty healthy argument and i dont mind seeing the viewpoint of an opposing person. My "meet the robinsons" was pretty good so im in healthy spirits anyways.

I guess the sarcasm wasnt easily sensed in my post, as most internet sarcasm isnt i guess.. the "religion" should have been in quotations to better portray the literary element but my B on that one. i was being sarcastic toward those who are firm believers in science as a religion. YOU may not feel that way. youre a logical, factual person. BUT you cant disregard the fact that there are plenty of people, mainly atheists, who are "believers" in scientific theory. the same people that dig up dirt on religions and find truth to science, but dont look for the truth in religion and dirt on science. believers in the biblical stories are not believing in legends that are all he said she said stories. There is a lot of first hand "saw it myself" stuff in there that solidifies the faith. just as if you saw an alien first hand and spoke to him, walked with him, learned from him, showed him to people, and then he left.. people immediately close to you would know the truth and believe you.. people lost in translation, time, and with distance between you and them would most likely not believe it because they havnt seen it themselves or higher level thinkers of their time have not proven aliens to be real. you yourself and your close friends would still believe that it happened though so that would be the foundation that supports your claim.

some people like to find out that scientists (who of course cannot make mistakes when there are variables that they have not yet discovered) think something to be true and are working on proving it. then they spout out the theories as truth and they create a following of believers in what they say. that is technically a religion. not exactly what YOU do, of course, but some people. the people on this forum that i was being sarcastic to. there are plenty of them on here. you and I both know that I am not going against you personally. this isnt a personal attack meant to degrade your reputation and "interweb societal rank."

at work and have to find some software developers for a client. deuces FOOs!

Check your username change history...its ramos...although it doesn't take down your username change count of 3. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

That's a good question. I think you were still fucking with me, but Im not sure, you might have moved on by now. The name change thing kinda through everyone out of their groove.
Well as you said before, you can't trust whether I am serious or not. The whole cry wolf thing makes it so.

I definitely agree that truth should be sought, no matter whose toes it steps on (be it a religious person, or a scientist).I believe its this search for truth that brings us all back together eventually, be it through religious means, or scientific. Perhaps both. (notice I never said I dont believe in God? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

Im glad you were able to handle this discussion in a much more serious and mature manner than 6 did. Im glad you did not take my words as offensively as he obviously has.

Cheers.

Ive learned to trust that you aren't being serious, all the time. That makes me wrong sometimes, but far less often than if I always took you seriously. Come on, you have to admit that's true. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I have no problems admitting that actually. It is the whole basis of serious business. Those who care, know how to find out if I am serious.

Just so everyone knows, this is not Ramos playing games either. There is no way in hell Ramos would sabotage sales discussions in members' PM inbox. This is legit and the name changing is being done via Ramos' account by the hacker.

Well played indeed. He even shifted focus during the heat. He is good.
