I love how people always claim to be a nice guy, but consistently put people down. You seem to be the only one taking issue with his advice so what does that say? And 29 years of car audio means nothing unless its quality. I've had 12 years of history courses, but does that make me an expert in history? Not necessarily. Not saying this applies to you though (because i don't know your level of experience in those 29 years).

You want a deadener thats both good in adhesive and has a strong aluminium sheet to brace the area along with lowering resonance.
