I believe the 1320c's are the older Pioneers.

I would hit these up and is what I have and are the newer ones. They can be had at newegg.com for 100 bucks as well. Just using this as an example.

I have them and sound fantastic!

Never heard the JBL's though.

I've auditioned JBL comps at a local dealer. They really didn't impress me in the midbass department. Granted, they were in an MDF sound board, so they likely sound a lot different in an actual vehicle door.

Based on that, I'd go with the new Pioneer D series. Looks like SE is out of stock, but you can snag them from OCS for $119 shipped or from Buy for $93 shipped.

i'd like the JBL it sounds very clear and clean detailed tweet but the mid bass is ok. i'e heard that the tweet from the pioneer is a little off.

The tweet a little off in the Pioneer series? Any tweet can be off if you don't axis them the right way. That is silly to even say.

My Pioneers are not even on axis and sound fantastic. Crisp tweets, smooth mids and plenty mid-bass, but I have well deadened doors as well.
