Sorry to hear about your mom... Alot of guys on here have dealt with similar situations, and many of us can understand what that can do to your mental state.

here's the thing you need to realize about this site. It really is a community, and what i mean by that, is that there is a HUGE member base, but then you also have a much smaller base of regular users. it's this smaller base of people that you will interact with 95% of the time on this forum. Point being, first impressions are everything, especially with people you interact with frequently. So if someone comes on here, and starts making snide comments to respected members, they're going to get trolled, and trolled hard. It doesn't matter if you're a great guy or not, because all that the smaller, more tight nit, member base will see is you being an a$$hole to a respected member. And you could even just be busting balls, but until the regular members on here get to know you, they can only take it as you just being an a$$.

I think you could do ok here, but acting like you know everything, dont care about how other members view you, or even disregarding sound advice, it just doesn't work here very well. You've got to remember, you may have been in the game for 3-4 years so far, but there are member on here who have been in it for 10,15 and even 20 years. Yes there is a large group of a$$holes on here, but the vast majority of them are great guys, who are also a$$holes.

No one is telling you to bend over, or even to concede defeat, all we're saying is that until the members on here get to know you, boasting, shit talking, and all the crap that goes along with it, will just make coming on this forum a pain in the ass... just food for thought.

First of all, I run SHOCKER, not stroker. Second of all, running a "6000W" amplifier by no means indicates that I'm getting 6000W out of it. Amp was being run at high impedence. I'd bet dollars to donuts that with that configuration I rarely get more than 3K out of that amp. Also that's why that box only lasted a week. I built it, it was a failure, and it's gone. I'm not pretending it was good, I built it, tested it, and moved on. In retrospect I think HIGHER tuning and it had potential, but it sounded like wet arse.
Please don't use my failed experiment to make a point.

you've also got to realize how many a$$hats we see on here every week, trying to take on a well respected member, just to boost their own ego. THAT is the main reason you got trolled so hard... not because any of us even knew enough about you to say for sure that you were a complete idiot, an all around a$$hole, or anything of the sort. But, mainly due to the fact that we see it SO often, that when we see it start to look that way, our first reaction is to troll the fvck out of that member, and get them to leave... because of how annoying it is, especially to those of us who frequent this site regularly. Do you get what i'm trying to say here?

 

I'm not saying that we should all continue to troll you, because that's still up in the air. you've just gotta realize, that even though this is a public forum, many members here do take certain things seriously, because of how much time they have invested in the site... so when they see someone new, doing the same type of ish that they've seen a million times before, it will illicite the same type of response, you know.

 

saying stuff like "i have a huge following" , "math isnt a huge part of designing", or even "type ish correctly if you want to give me advice" ... those posts right there are what lead to 95% of the trolling, because they are so boastful, and certain ones seemed to attack respected members, you know.
