My three big benefits to jailbreaking your iPod Touch or iPhone:

1. Ability to download torrents, and thus anything you like, directly to the device

2. vlc4iphone plays any media format

3. You can SSH into the device to upload or download anything to it from your computer

There are, of course, a lot of things you can do (all the customization you can imagine with Winterboard), but those are the critical three for me that made it worth it.

truth, along with much much more...these people who jailbreak it and then go back and reset didnt read enough, my iphone can do just about everything except give me a blowjob

I'm actually on my jailbroken iPod now and it's worth it.

Just google for quickpwn and then search YouTube for jailbreaking tutorials.
