IVA-D310 Problems

1) So my D310 will randomly lock up once in awhile. Only while playing MP3/WMA discs though. Like I can change song and pause/play but I can't change volume, source, or open the files.

2) Sometimes it takes a minute for it to turn on once my car/battery is on. Then once it turns on, it plays but the video isn't working.

Anyone else have these problems? Ideas?

Do you have it bypassed? If so, do you share the remote turn-on wire on the bypass with the amp's remote turn on? If so, it's possible the amp's are drawing too much voltage from the turn on of the radio harness causing the bypass to not function properly, in which case you will need a relay. I've had this issue before.

If not, I'm clueless. Where did you get the unit from/how long have you had it?

Edit: All these "if" statements...I should be a programmer.

I have the TR7 with the unit. Got the unit from BBY and the TR7 from a local guy.

Yeah, the remote wires are spliced together then go on to the factory amp.

That's the way mine was set up originally. The amp turn-on of the headunit was connected to 2 amps and the bypass to turn all 3 devices on.

As a quick fix, take the actual amps' turn on wires and splice those together (for this purpose, just kind of tie them together to make a quick, non-permanent connection). Now, take those 2 wires at the connected end, and tap that end into the red (power) wire on the headunit harness. You can expose some wire on the power wire by using a crimping tool and cutting back a little of the wire's jacket.

That will take the majority of current draw off the amp turn-on wire and allow your bypass to turn on. This shouldn't take about 5 minutes to do. If your I-personalize and movie playback features now work, you'll know you need a relay to connect all 3 devices to the amp turn-on wire.
