Well I have to jump back in here.
1-Mobile weapons trucks have been found and confirmed. The WMD or not debate is dead. Where are they, are they still in Iraq, all is still in the air. Did they exist at all is a dead issue.
2-Jews, Christians, Muslims, all worship THE SAME GOD. Jews Believe their is no Messiah as yet. Christians believe the Messiah was Jesus. Muslims believe it was Mohammed. The argument between Jews and Muslims goes all the way back to the splitting of Abraham's estate. Muslims in the Mideast relate Americans to Europeans who fought wars of CONQUEST on Arab lands. Bin Laden even refers to the US and Israel as "the Jews and Crusaders" ignoring the fact that American spread of peace and Democracy has no relationship to European colonialism. This mindset is fostered by tyrannical govts who fear a free population and hence equate the US to the Europeans before is in the Arab media. After all we all look alike.
3-ALL of the big 3 religions have been cursed over the ages with zealots who desired to destroy all who don't agree with their fundamentalist ideas. In the west we have for the most part contained and/or eliminated such fools. In the Mideast they are about where we were on this issue 500 yrs ago.

I am suprised this topic has lasted this long
well its still up in the air, so until we have some type of resolution the topic will live.
it seems that bush has finally realized that he will not find any WOMD, so now he is saying that the war was legit because they eliminated a bad regime, and that terrorists will no longer be able to have access to WOMD through iraq. meh, i guess so...

Here I disagree. The WOMD existence is not even debatable. They had them. They used them against their people. They used them against Iran. They used them against us in Gulf War round 1. Aerosol dispersion artillery shells have been found. Plants with full camouflage to make the stuff has been found. Mobile labs have been found. UNMOVIC believed they existed. UNSCOM believed they existed. The UN believed they existed. Saddam admitted they existed. The regime forced it's own destruction by refusing to comply.
The question isn't WERE they there but WHERE are they now.
We have the ground water in Iraq contaminated where the stuff was dumped into the Tigris river. We have numerous Iraqis confirming the weapons programs existence.
We have the dead bodies of people who cooperated with UNSCOM, UNMOVIC, the UN, and the Allies.
Only the most close minded of individuals can truly examine the evidence as a whole and deny the existence.
To use the same logic we haven't caught Bin Laden so he doesn't exist either right?

LWW, you are correct, but relatively 'negligible' things like that isnt enough for the MAJORITY of the american public. i was speaking in terms of the american public feeling that the war was justified, and until we can go in and get REALLY REALLY solid evidence, the public will feel betrayed.

If there use against Iran, the Allies, and the Kurds PLUS their own admission of possession doesn't suffice I'm not sure what would.
Although certain elements of society will disagree with ANY Republican President no matter the issue and some will disagree with ANY Democrat President no matter the issue and some will disagree with the actions of the US no matter what the issue is or who the President is the majority of the US public by a wide margin did and still do support the US and it Allies.

IMHO I dont think the general public cares about the Iraq WOMD thing. Its a dead issue for most in this country.
I think the souring economy and the degree of success the US has in nation-building in Iraq
are issues that the average American counts on the Bush Administration to mend.
