When a kid turns 16 and wants to blo his ear drums..so i no basic stuff about subs but i need advice from the pros, but first some info, just got a 01 alero yea its oldsmaobile and definately not what i wanted but my dad wouldnt let me spend some of my money 2 get a Civic or Integra type car. He says i need to wait a month before putting in a system so i can "get used to driving" or somthing but i wanna start planning what system i will get. I will prolly change the deck (im guessing i will have to, stock decks in their currently) and i need to stay cheap becasue my dads gay. so you heard my life story this is what im currently looking at:

Then i was looking for a kicker amps but most of them that would power this sub are out of my price range so i seen a "Phoenix" like this one

None of my friends or anyone i know has a pheonix anything are they a good reliable brand? And would this be a good set-up for my sub or should i go a little lower on the amp rms power to save money. But i also want the power.

Found a 4 chaneel kciker amp, says

RMS Power Output: 170W x 4 @ 2 Ohm Peak Power Output: 340W x 4 @ 2 Ohm

Birdged Output: 325W x 2 @ 4 Ohm

Could i bridge it to 600+ watts with 2 ohms/ if i only have one sub have it bridged to one sub with 2ohms still?? or would it be best to do something else since its a dvc sub?

I have that Kicker 4 channel amp, Its a great amp. I got mine for about $175 shipped refurbished. I dont think you can go 600 watts at 2 ohms, im not sure though. you dont want to hook the kicker 650.4 to a 4 channel amp, thats totally useless.

if you want to start out with the kicker L5(I own the 15 inch L7) you can get it here cheaper:

Always look for a better deal before you commit to something, because 95% of the time your going to find something cheaper somewhere else.

i say shop around longer, and look at different stuff. use our classified section, and you could get some good equipment for a good price.

just remember to get from a reputable seller, ebay is great for buying lots of great things cheap, some people just dont like it because they have been screwed over Ive been using it for 5 years and not 1 time have I been screwed.

yea lke the guy selling the L5 has sold over 45,000 things and has 99% good feedback so i figure hes safe

just dont buy any crappy equipment like visonik and volfenhag and shit, I learned my lesson months ago, and it was very very stupid. I read alot on the forum and learned 50000% more than I ever knew
