It's official

As sweet as the GPS concept sounds, I am not fond of it. Call me a "Dale Gribble" paranoid bastard but I don't like the idea of the possibility my car can be tracked by GPS. Granted they can at least passively track my cel phone, but that can easily be mailed somewhere other than my location. Carputer = genius idea, as for GPS, I like maps better.

 
At least it can be tracked if the car is ever stolen entirely and the thief doesnt think to disconnect the gps. Though a situation like that would be pretty rare.

I agree with you on that concept with something like Onstar...but when you can install it and control it yourself, it's a little different.

If I ever went with a GPS tracking system, I'd use something like APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System), which is basically a closed network unless you really know where to look.
