The problem was many of the mods you are referring to started turning every forum on the site into the thunderdome in terms of content, attitude, rules, etc.The dome lost its lols a long time ago, first a lot of regulars left then goob fired the mods you faggots will never be able to return it to its greatness it once was.
IMO it's not worth the thunderdome name it holds and should be referred to as the lounge again.

Moderators should not have a '*** of the month' quote in his sig, shouldn't tell someone to 'go die' as reasoning for thread deletions (even if the thread was blatantly spam or worse), shouldn't pass out their mod powers to 'trusted friends' via passing around login info (and in fairness to them, shouldn't be in the position they feel they need to), shouldn't modify someone's sig or avatar and then ban them for its content, shouldn't have a thread that only veterans are allowed to post in and noobs who disobey are banned, etc. All these things were funny, but they weren't conducive to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. If the t-dome is going to work that way, okay, its the OT section anyway. But when those attitudes slipped over into the car audio forums, something had to give.
Not sure what you mean exactly. So basically nothing that made this forum unique….
I would have to say this place is still pretty unique. I don't know of any larger gatherings of self proclaimed experts anywhere else in the world. Or a larger group of individuals suffering from headuptheassitus. The only thing close would be the US government //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifSo basically nothing that made this forum unique….
