this will be a rant. get ready.

So ive noticed alot of families have to cut back on spending due to the economy.

Well i have also noticed alot of their cuts are made to the kids. not parents.

Buddy of mine has both parents. They cut back on clothes even tho they only buy once a year only once a year.

Cut back a 10$ internet bill. Took his prepaid Phone etc. But yet his parents drive a ford excursion,

smoke 1 pack of newports a day each. still have their smart phones. Make nonsense trips to waste gas. and very many others.

so why are the parents so selfish? at least when i need to make a cut my parents make one with me. ive noticed this all around the country when someone is asked what they cut back its something of their childs.

my best friend josh would absolutely agree with you. He is 18 and finishing up high school. He works 25-40 hours a week as a spot welder for a factory. So right after school he goes to work.

He has been saving up to buy a car. He drives his dads car right now. ANd for the past 3-4 years. The car has been burning more than a 1 quart of oil a week and gets 6 MPGs because only 2 out of the 4 cylinders are working. His dad has another motor for the car but hasnt been working on it. Meanwhile his step mom is on disability. Yet she has a smart phone? a wii? 2000 channel cable package? and a laptop? 3 of those she got this year. and as long as i've known him. THey've always made him get the cheapest phone.

ANd now his parents are out of money and are borrowing money from him.

I did home school online for junior and senior year of High school. Best decision I ever made. I was going to drop out otherwise. My high school was forking broooootal. no one liked me.

im confused...does this kid thats 13 really need a cell phone? no... do the parents need cell phones to work...probably i know i need a cell phone for my job... does the kid NEED new clothes right now? no you said yourself he has clothes... so what exactly is this kid going without? internet and a cell phone? im not sure but thats not exactly neglect those are LUXURY things... his parents are cutting back on things not needed..and internet is not necessarily needed for home schooling..believe it or not they did that long before internet was invenetd...if the kid doesnt like that the parents who are earning the money are buying themselves cigarrettes then he should get a job and do what he wants with his money.. i dont see what your rant is really about...the 13yr old kid doesnt have a cell phone or internet...how will he ever survive?!

i can agree but he is 13 . and most kids are under 17 that have cuts. at least i try to carry myself 

it wasnt high speed . it was 10$ a month internet for school studies.(he is homeschooled) and a prepaid phone isnt a 100$ phone.

I can see him needing the internet. Cellphone he does not need i never got one tell i was 16. The internet would help him with school though since he doesnt have a ride to the library, and the parents dotn teach him they have programs to do that for him.

...or they could send his *** to public school for free like every other kid in america and guess what the school has internet.
