First of all will a yellowtop and a powermaster d975 work together?

2nd how should i connect both batteries? At most ill be playing music with the car off for about 15 mins. Ill be running around 1250 rms and the big 3 is done. Stock 80 amp alt in a 96 camry. Any ideas? Thanks

I only have an 80 amp alternator as well. Cant upgrade it without rewiring the dash, cause the current from the alt goes through the dash before going to the battery. I added a yellowtop Optima to the back, wired through an ambulance relay, basically the same thing as the Stinger, but quite a bit cheaper. Then I wired in a relay delay, which allows your car to run for a few seconds before opening the relay. It also monitors the charge to the main battery, and if it drops below 12.8v, it'll close the relay and focus the charge on the front battery till it comes back up.

Here's the relay, I love this thing

Okay so i just connect both neg to neg, then pos to pos with 2 fuses about 4 feet away from each battery with 300 amp fuses. Then i use the battery in the back to connect to my distro, right?

I'd keep those fuses a lot closer than 4 feet away from the battery, try for under 18" if possible. If something happens to the power wire between the battery and the fuse then it was pointless to have a fuse at all, you want to keep them as close as poisble to both batteries.

I already got the 300's so I'd want to use those. What is the advantage of using 150 over 300?
The object of the fuse is to trip if a higher surge runs threw lines caused by a short ect... 150 would be better since it takes less power to short it. But if you have the 300 it would be fine.

I agree with this as well. If the fuse is to far away from the battery the fuse makes no sence since it may not trip.

The distance has nothing to do with the fuse blowing or not.It has to do with the lenght of wire that is still live. The point of the fuse is to protect the wire/cabin in case of short. The closer you have the fuse to the battery the least amount of wire will still be live after the fuse blows.
