Isobaric dual bandpass question?

The point of an Iso box is when space is a concern. You basically half the total air space but have to double the power just to get the same output as the 2 subs in a regular box.

That's why I suggessted the 6th order.Nowadays subs reqiure such small amounts of air space anyway that the Iso is just not pratical anymore.

lame skillet haha. o well was a good question. i learned something. but like i said it would make for a sweet looking install with that many woofers haha if u r going for a show vehicle.

i did some decware boxes a few years ago and the Deathbox II was an ISO loaded enclosure, it sounded good, but the WickedOne with the SAME DRIVERS sounded so much better!

I seen some ISO's back in the early 90's but that's about it.Never for anything other than show too.I wanted to build one of those Wickedones but it just takes so much.

Lade I would agree it would "look" killer. But that's about it.Do the 4th order and you'll be loud as fawk!Look at Steve Mick he's doing 58-60@like40- 42 Hz!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

even cheap $100 subs puts you at $1600 for subs alone. You could save a butt-load of space by doing an iso loaded 4th order but if walk-up impressions are your thang, do 16 in a 4th order with a plexi face //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

^^With that one tuning each chamber would be a *****!
not really. the 2 outside chambers would be the same tuning. u could build 3 different boxes to the select tuning that u want and then bolt them all together and put ur top and bottom plates on it to secure them all together. hard part is knowing what u should tune each section too. would u do like 30hz outter chambers and like a 50hz center chamber so u will be able to play through all those freq's??

Sorry this is what I ment.

reason isobaric was popular in the 90's was because woofers required large boxes and you couldnt just pick up a 1000w rms sub for a few hundred bucks, so you could get 4, mount 2 isobaric and have s 'superwoofers' for alot less than you would pay for a 1000w woofer which would have been like $800 back then
