Is XM worth it?

I am getting the stereo installed this weekend and wonder if I should go ahead and also do the XM part of it. Tell me your thoughts

I am getting the Alpine 9835 installed which does have an mp3, but I actually don't really do any downloads

I have it and i really enjoy it, but i would say only get it if you can comfortably spend the extra money it takes to buy it. I barely notice the $10 a month i pay for it, but the installation is expensive, especially that alpine tuner. With the mp3 feature you can get as much music for cheaper, but on xm i really like the talk channels, sports, news, comedy (funny as hell) Again, i recommend it if the installation price is not so much that it really severely cuts into your budget, it is nice but it is not as essential as a great overall system.

i have it in my car and i dont really listen to it.... get it if you like talk radio and stuff like that..

I have sirius and think it is definitely worth it. Ofcourse, Sirius has had much better deals on receivers than XM has had over the past year or so.

Now that I have satellite radio, I would hate to go without it.

I would say no, unless you like listening to all of the talk channels or news/sports channels. If all you are interested in is music, then i would say just go with the normal head unit and just use cds or mp3s or whatever you are using at that point in time. If you really like listening to the talk stations then it would probably be worth it
