i heard racing could damage ur heads unit, i found this out when i was out buying a new h/u/ for my vehicle and the salesman told me this certain radio there was equipped with some thing that would lower the volume on itself if i speeded too high, sounds weird to me, is it true? if so can someone explain? thkz.

I think he was just trying to discourage you from speeding. Why would a company spend money putting technology into some useless feature like that? I know there are systems that come equip with certain cars that turn the volume up as you increase speed to compensate for road noise, but not the other way around.

well, my friends '04 monte has that where when you speed up it'll raise in volume, and when you slow down it'll lower

the only way I can see your head unit being damaged from racing would be if there was a sudden voltage drop that caused a short somewhere... and your fuse would blow, so you'd just have to fix the fuse.. no biggy realy..

but yeah.. that's about it..

My brother just got a Pioneer DEH-7500 and it has a feature that raises volume when you just increase RPMs and vice versa. He was able to turn it off, though...good thing considering he drives a manual. So yeah, that salesman doesn't really know what he's talking about it seems...

my girls parents just bought a new trailblazer and the stock system lowers the volume when you slow down but thats just stock bs
you can turn this feature off. the {Auto Vol} button. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
