Is this the thing everyone always argues about?

Hey guys! What's going on?

Well I was in Lowes today picking up some shit for my family and I decided to take a look and see if I could find the sound deadener stuff that everyone always argues about. Im pretty sure its called Peel & Seal.

Is this it?

I picked it up and examined it. Looks very thin, although I havent had any real experience with other solid deadening materials... Anyway, is that the stuff that some people on here have tried? Or is it a different thing?

thats the stuff. it is usually advised to use more than one layer of it. slightly different than the name brand deadeners, but at a fraction of the price, and the same result can be achieved, who is going to complain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BTW

That is $1 a square foot in that roll you showed... Secondskin is just barely over double that and RAAMAT is even less...

Butyl = no smell, better stick, more heat resistant, more mass per square foot...all around better.

Yeah I dont really know what I want to do...

Ive just gotten frustrated with my car recently. It sounds fine on the inside (at least to me --- I guess there are a few rattles you hear but its not really that bad), but from the outside it sounds like my car is falling apart one bolt at a time.

When I first got my system I decided I was going to deaden my trunk so that I wouldnt be the loud ******* driving around rattling like crazy, so I ended up using 2 gallons of SS Spectrum in my trunk. I did the trunk floor, sides, and lid. (I kinda forgot about the rear deck)... Now dont get me wrong, the trunk feels a lot more solid and has a satisfying thump, but my car still rattles to all hell. I know for a fact that some of it is coming from my lights and other shit, but as to whether my trunk has been completely eliminated, im still unsure.

I guess I was hoping I could just spend a little bit of money and throw something over the spectrum and keep the vibrations from even reaching my taillights or rear bumper...

what do you guys think?

p&s doesnt leave a Smell...
x2 I have close to 100sq ft of P&S (counting a little bit of eDead) and it has not "smelled like tar" at all....and Ive had it for close to 2 years.

By the way, Heat Gun FTW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

trunk lid is where ATON of rattles comes from. your quarter panels flex but don't cause alot of rattles. most are from your trunk lid and lights. put some foam behind your tail lights if you can't get them to stop and atleast put some deaden on your lid, thats kinda the most important, or it was for me atleast.

yeah i hear ya... i dont think its possible to get rid of allllll the rattles from outside the car... im gonna pick up a few sacks of quickcrete one day i swear...

i have almost my entire car done in "protecto-wrap" which i guess is similar to peel and seal... no odors and its been holding up so far so good in FL heat where my car is parked in the sun all day long... only downside is its pretty thin but i guess that makes it a lil easier to work w/ ?
