Is this scope enough for car audio?

You can use the DMM method, but you wont know when you start to clip. That is the only benifit of using an o-scope. It allows you to see your wave out and tell when you begin to clip.
very true... but unless he needs more than 500 watts, it will be fine, iirc, the 500/1 doesnt clip until almost 600 watts
