So i want to run a 1000 watt rms amp but only have 6 gauge, and 8 gauge wiring. Can i double up on wires to equal out to like a 4 gauge? Meaning i would have a 6 gauge, and 8 gauge power wire running from the battery and both hooked up to the same power terminal on the amp. Also two grounds hooked up to the same terminal. For those who understand what im saying, will this work?

not saying you couldnt cuz u can but i would just run the 1000w amp on the 6gauge turned downfor a little while and order me a knukonceptz.com 4gauge amp kit when i had the chance make sure u get the pure ofc the cca isnt as good for high current about 100amps of fusing but the ofc can go up to 150amp

What amp? ofc? cca?
Well when i get it, probably an alpine mrp-m1000, or some other monoblack 1000 watt. But is it ok to have it hooked up like that to the kenwood kac-7205 until i get my new amp? Cuz idk how to install so i was guna have someone hook it up to the amp i have now so all i have to do is switch out amps.

With the kenwood I wouldnt worry about it cuz it probably isnt even making 1000 rms lol
no definatly not... its rated at 250 rms 500 rms bridged lmao i only have it 250. My friend just sayed i could do this and it sounded crazy to me so i wanted to make sure.

ofc= oxygen free copper best wire available

cca=copper clad aluminum since electricity flows on top of the strands at low voltage ie: 12v, 14v, 16v. this lets u add a filler under a coat of copper to save money. downside is a slight drop in amperage capabilities

Anything smaller than 1/0 and the wire you should be buying is OFC. Though for 1/0 you have a choice between CCA and OFC. I personally prefer using CCA because you can do 2 runs of CCA for the same price as a run of OFC and have around 200 extra amps of flow (CCA 1/0 is rated around 250A, OFC is rated around 300A)
