*******i ask him to produce some pics and tell me where he is located and also mileage of the car (the ad on cars.com is from Ohio)******

email #2------

Hello,

The car is located in Hamilton NY, I'm in Canada right now with business and I don't know for how long I'll stay here because I have a lot of work. But if you decide to buy my car, I can come back to start the transaction. I can come back but I need a warranty for doing that. I have other buyers and I will loose them if you will change your mind. I can ship the car directly to your place or we can arrange meeting. I need a kind of confirmation that we will have the deal together and a proof that you really have the money and you intent to pay.

For safety of this transaction I want to use an escrow company.

Here are the steps of the deal :

1.The Seller will open the transaction --> 2.The buyer has to make the payment to escrwo Financial Department --> 3.The Seller will receive the confirmation that the payment is done --> 4.The seller will ship the item to the buyer and he has 5 days to test check it -->5.The buyer will contact Escrow to tell them if he is satisfied or not --> 6.Escrow will release the money to the seller(in case the buyer is satisfied) and to the buyer(in case that he is not satisfied).

So,please wrote this email twice and let me know.I hope you agree with me,because I think that it is the best way to protect both(seller and buyer).

Just email me back and let me know

Thanks,

Chris

k, now he jsut emailed me back w/ some pics....finally.

i told him to take another pic, w. his email on a piece of paper, and to provide a vin #

so tell me...scam...or no scam?

it has to be bullsh!t. he can just go to carmax and sell it to them for more....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

THIS IS A SCAM. Don't do it. I had this happen to me on a bike. I almost bought it, but when I get the "escrow" email it was missing pictures and links were not working. Tons of these people try to use squaretrade and if you look squaretrade doesn't do escrow, they are a company who is in charge of helping people who are already getting shafted.

I'd stay clear of this. Next thing he should ask for is a money order sent. Then you know its done. Especially if he wants it to Canada.
