I have an infinity a1211 . it pushes 1300 watts rms at two ohms. and a 1.3 cubic foot box with the sub in. 8 gauge speaker wire not power wire. so now what ? do i sell it and get the two ohm orjust set the **** gain and levels to try to get less power at the level i like to hear my music. here is the amp specs. http://www.cardomain.com/item/INFREF1211AI have 100amp alternator big three and reg battery .yes i need a new battery

Just set the gains to get the right power. It will be less stress on your amp and you will have less chance of clipping.

How is it that you set the gains during the break in period? I need to set volume on head unit to 3/4 and turn the gain till you hear distortion. That is not the way i have always done it. I set them based on the voltage in the pre outs. but not to keep the power down .
