Well, while listening to my house stereo today, I started hearing a crackle in my powered sub. So I took the sub out to see how many ohms it was, and its a single 4 ohm sub.
So now Im just going to buy a cheap DD to replace it, I was thinking like a 2012, just something cheaper thats a svc, and is 4ohm. I figured the lower dd might work ok, since the powered amp is 350wrms.
So I start searching ebay, and I find a few subs Im kind of interested in.
But this Auction really baffled me.

This guy is claiming that this sub is a 9512, but a older model.
I sent him this email asking about the sub:
"Just wondering about your sub. You say it is a 9512, but the 9512 subs never had that raise on the magnet, but the older 3500 series did. Also there are 3 styles of the 9500 series magnet. the newest style is a double stack 320oz, then theres the style before that that has the square vents the same as the new style but they are not as close to the basket as the new ones are, there a bit lower down. Then there is the oldest style that has round vents and they are also lower down in the magnet. Your sub does not have any features of the magnets of the 9500 series. Another thing I noticed is the speaker wires, the 9500 series never came with that thin of wires, but however the 3500 series did. I also know that you cant upgrade a 3500 series to a 9500 series because of the different sizes in the coils. So do you have any proof that this is a 9500 series woofer? There should be a tag on the woofer around the basket with some numbers on it. Can you send a pic of that? Still interested
Brian"
Still havent gotten a response from this seller, and its a whole new day.
So is this sub even a older 9500, I have never seen a 9500 with that style magnet with the raise in the middle, but my friends 3515s have the same style magnet.
He claims he is selling the speakers so he can get some 9510s, well why doesnt he sent it in and get it reconed into a 10, after all you can upgrade or downgrade a 9500 series to a smaller size, or to a 9900 series, but you cannot change a 3500 series into a 9500 series.
Just kinda confused.
