I have the opportunity to trade my like new JBLGTO1004D 10's (2) in a prefab enclsoure for a 12 JL Audio w3 + $125. Is that a good deal? That is an expensive sub, sounds fishy to me. Thanks.

Which model of w3 is it?

I'd take a DMM to check the coils and check for damage. If it's in good shape and reads ok, I'd possibly do it. It's your choice though man.

It isn't the new one, it is the last years one. It would be a trade over the internet, so no chance to test it.

The sub is a 4 ohm DVC which will not work well with my amp, guess I will miss a chance to get rid of my stuff, safety first.

Also, you are always going to want to upgrade. I dont give a shit who you are. Think it through, dont do it if he has no references though

First thing, it is 4 ohm which wont work well with my amp. Second, newbie and no references. It would work out well, I thought about doing it an selling the JL sub, but again, tons of risks involved.
