is this a good deal??

my 2 15's decided to die on me today so a friend is offering me a quatum audio spl 15 in a custom made box for it for $150, is this a good buy or should i look for something else??

cool...i'm not trying to find one sub that will rattle my doors off..i just want a descent sub that will get loud the few times i like too

never used quantum, but ive heard some of there subs and they sound like poo

actually i have tested that sub out and it would hold 3k nonstop on test tones but there was mech noise. it wasnt the loudest sub out there, built to handle power not as much get loud. was close to as loud as a re audio sx with 2k.

i ended up plugging into the wall at 1ohm for over 3 mins before it started to smoke.
