Is this a good deal?

I got quoted today for a cut cab, custom box, and line-x bedliner sprayed on the box and subs mounted up (not wired) for $500 out the door, sound like a good deal or what?

I wouldn't call that a "good deal" unless there was a very large amount of custom fabrication/installation involved....and I'm not just talking about measuring to be sure it fit in your vehicle.

What type of box are you wanting?

Have the tools to build one yourself, or know a friend/family member who can help you build one?

Because we can certainly help you design one...for free. Spend $30 in materials and you're good to go.

After re-reading...by "cut cab" do you mean blowthrough?

i dont have the tools or anyone that i know of personally and if you could build one that would be perfect, definitely save me some cash.....

and by cut cab i mean blow through, they cut the holes for the subs in the back of the cab on my truck and have the subs firing into the rear seats in my ext. cab with the box in the bed of the truck covered in bedliner

Paying for install is never a "good deal". Lord knows what I'd do with 500 extra bucks (cd-2 neos), but they do seem to do good work. As long as you feel like they'll do a good job and dont' feel comfortable doing it yourself go ahead. Especially if it's a newer vehicle your scared to chop up.
