Best to my knowledge:

MTX T8500 10" Sub -

RMS: 500W

PEAK: 1000W

Impedance: Dual 4 Ohm

MTX X Thunder 1000XD Monoblock Amp -

RMS: 1000W at 2 Ohms/500W at 4 Ohms

Max Power: 2000W

I'm trying to set up the perfect sub/amp combo in my 02 mustang GT and am trying to get the best from my sub that I can without over/underpowering either one. I already have one blown MTX and I don't want to do another. So do you think this would be a good setup?

Thanks

If you set the gain correctly, It will work. However, if you set the amp to 1000 watts, the sub is gonna be screwed.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
