i have this sub. i wouldnt put it in 1cubic foot of air and give it over 2000w...but thats just me. i mean itll sound nice and work, but if u want it to really shine you want around 3.5 to 4 cubs for it. as far as thew power goes, 1500w youd be better off with the hd3....however 2.5kw to 3kw is PLENTY to reach full excursion. itll take 4kw daily...but it needs around 2.5kw to get it moving full tilt. it WILL get louder than the HD3 assuming all other factors of the install are right (box size specs, power, electrical backing, etc...)
now the question is, what size....if you're trying to stick an 18 in 1 cubic foot, i would advise against that...however if it's a 10 or a 12 then it would work alot better ( i wouldnt do a 15 in that small of a box). u could probly get away with a 10 or 12 in that kinda box as long as u have at least 2kw to work with. 1500 would still sound ok but itll want more. the hd3 would be more efficent with the lack of power.
EDIT: realized that the OP wasnt asking about 1cubic foot or space lol.
OP: get the hd3 if u cant get more than 1500w to it. if u can get more power and u do ur install right, this should shit all over it. (splwise....iirc both are very musical subs)
and yes, you're grammer sucks ccoocckk
