Is my garage overcharging for stereo?

you'll need all those besides the hook tool(depends on your vehicle you might need it but i doubt it), but you may be able to find even better prices on those parts through amazon, i recommend you look up the same equipment on amazon and see if its cheaper (with shipping included) than crutchfield.

the crimp tool and caps can be bought in bulk much cheaper on amazon i guarantee it

 
Talk to their friends...before the interwebz car stereo had far fewer wires coming out of the back and were generally far easier to install.

My early "head units"/"stereos" had speaker/power and ground wires and a connection point for the antenna...hard to screw up...
