Is MTX as good as people say? How does it compare to Kenwood?

Hey guys, I've got a choice between two amps, a kenwood KAC-9104D and the MTX 1000XD. I've only ever used Pioneer and Infinity amps, so I'm not sure about kenwood or MTX.

I've heard MTX is the shit in car audio =P, is this true or is it just a hype cause they're on tv?

Here are the kac-9104d and 1000xd specs:

Kenwood KAC-9104D (kac9104d) - Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp - Sonic Electronix

MTX 1000XD - Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp - Sonic Electronix

What do you guys think? I'm powering two Apline 12" Type S subs (300wrms each), so I only need 600wrms but I'd prefer to have the extra power just in case I upgrade, and to make sure my apline subs never get underpowered.

nope... mtx is practically a dead brand, and kenwood is ehhhh.... if ur chasing after a mainstream solid amp brand do a rockfrod fosgate p1000 ot t1000....it will be worth the extra money

The thing is that I don't want something too high end, this system is just to last me a few years until I buy my new car. I don't want cheap chinese shit though haha, I just want an in the middle brand.

How about MTX? Both amps are rated at 900/1kw rms, and I only plan to run them at about 600/700 so they shouldn't get too hot. I'm more asking about their quality, sq etc?

kenwood amps are garbage, along with pioneer. mtx is tolerable, i suppose. out of everything listed, infinity was the best brand you have dealt with.

i like MTX amps. their TA series have always beensolid. i have owned a ta 3202, a 92001, and 2 ta 81001's.. strong amps, cool features, selectable lighting, the 92001 and 81001s were both and under 1ohm
