I have 2 D2 subs and 2 1200 wrms amps. Is maxx link the only way to connect the amps together?

You don't need to connect the amps together in any way. Just run one sub per amp.

Use some y-splitters to split the RCA signal.

do they have an input and output? Couldnt you just run the RCAs to the first one then run em out to the second. I dont know if the SAEs have those.

Can someone recommend me a cheap DMM?

Go to sears and get a basic craftsman one. I've had mine for 5+ years and it still works fine.
